Application Process and Requirements

Students applying to the Middlesex Transition Academy (MTA) must be completing high school and must have an identified disability.

If you are or have a student who is interested in learning more about attending the MTA, contact the program to schedule a visit and tour.

If parents/guardians and students are interested in applying to the Academy after visiting the program, an application can be filled out and downloaded from our website (see link below), and then emailed to Samantha Winkler, program coordinator swinkler@rsd13.org.

After the application has been submitted, the Academy will schedule an intake interview with the student. Following review of all necesesary paperwork, a decision on acceptance will be made and communicated to the student, family and sending district.

Upon request, the Academy's Program Coordinator will attend the student’s Planning and Placement Team meeting to review and answer questions about the Academy’s program with sending school district personnel, parents and student.

Please contact the program at (860) 358-9583 for additional information.
